Junior & Jeff

It’s a very sad day in NASCAR for me; Dale Earnhardt Jr has signed with Hendrick Motorsports for the 2008 Nextel Cup season. It’s sad because he’s joining forces with Jeff Gordon, the move-over “Wonderboy” of NASCAR.

I certainly hope Dale Jr doesn’t take lessons from Jeff Gordon, or Jimmy Johnson for that matter, on driving behind other cars. For a person who has said over the radio he wanted to move or wreck his own teammate makes me hate Jeff Gordon’s driving. Even Matt Kenseth or Rusty Wallace can tell you that.

But I will stand by Dale Earnhardt Jr, but not his new teammates, other than maybe Mears. I congratulate Dale Earnhardt Jr for his decision to leave DEI and join Hendrick Motorsports, a much better and luckier team.

The specifics, including car number and sponsor haven’t been decided yet, but Junior has expressed interest in keeping the #8. Kyle Busch will be moving on next year to another team, nothing announced yet.

I call on Teresa Earnhardt to make a deal with Junior or Hendrick to give Junior the number 8. The fans would appreciate and it’s good for the Earnhardt family. I call on all media outlets, including blogs, to continue this campaign.
